questions but no answers

Why is he so perfect? That is the question of the man that every girl in this high school thought. He was the man of every fairytale there was. The cupid of the school. He had that school wrapped around his little finger. And we have her, an underclassman crushing harder than every other girl in that room. Or better yet, the whole school. They had one class together. And that was all she needed to know:

This, was her man. So she spent weeks putting together a proposal for him to be her boyfriend. She somehow got some of his friends to help out to get him to come. And so, this is how it went.

“What if he doesn't come?! What if he doesn’t like it? What if-” She started to ramble until her best friend cut her off.

“He will love it. I know that. So stop freaking out before your face turns red from that blood flow that you're using!” she snapped into her. The girl was shocked but knew that her friend was right. She sighed and waited for him to come. While waiting she was shaking by just looking at her legs as she was wearing shorts and an oversized sweatshirt. It was toward the end of football season so it was a bit cold for her to wear shorts.

“Here he comes!” The friend said out loud so she could hear her.

“Oh my god look at you,” the man said looking at the underclassmen. He was disgusted by what he saw and didn’t forget to show it on his face.

He walked away laughing with his friends. She was left there alone since she wanted to be left alone with him with her friend and she would tell her bestie after if it worked out. So here she was laying on the turf on the football field. Where she first saw the man that she used to love. She ran home for about 5 minutes before she slowed down and started to walk the rest home. She had been crying the whole way home. Good thing her mom wasn’t home from work.

So she went upstairs to her room and cried… and cried… and cried till she fell asleep.

The next morning was a Saturday, and when she woke up. She knew what she wanted to do. She wouldn’t run after a man. That was the last thing she wanted to do. But instead, she became the woman that she had always wanted to be. A woman who lived on the 49th floor of her apartment building. A floor-wide apartment on the upper west side of New York City. A woman who needed no man for her success. The woman that she was to become. The image for woman empowerment.
